Jessica’s Story

My name is Jessica Ead Namvar. I am a full-time high school math teacher and co-owner at Be Well At Black Barn Farm. I was born and raised in Methuen, MA and grew up in a very cultured Lebanese household, which was centered around family, hospitality and being active and enjoying the outdoors.

Both my brothers and I graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. Growing up in Methuen and staying local for school, I have a special place in my heart for the Merrimack Valley. I’m grateful for the time spent with my parents and brothers; as it allowed me to grow an affinity for sports, nature, and academics. I feel very lucky to have been able to share these interests not only with my family and friends, but also with my students.

My professional career started by double majoring in Mathematics and Secondary  Education at Merrimack College. While pursuing my degree, I spent a great deal of time tutoring and working at the Upward Bound Program, specifically focusing on Math, outdoor and interactive education. Subsequently, I started my full-time career as a high school Math Teacher in 2011 at Andover High School. My drive to further my knowledge and education led me to earn my Masters in Curriculum and Education with a Concentration in Mathematics.

With 10 years of teaching Math and private tutoring, I joined Sobhan in opening Be Well At Black Barn Farm. Learning is a lifelong journey and one of the main components at Be Well At Black Barn Farm.
